The streak of awards and recognition for Texas Outdoors Journal and Texas Outdoor News radio continued on March 7, 2020, at the 62nd Annual Texas Outdoor Writers Association Conference held in Bryan Texas. Each year T.O.W.A.s Excellence In Craft competition honors the best in Texas print and broadcast journalism, photography, writing, and web-based platforms with results announced at its annual conference banquet.

Adding to the collection of awards won came the Outdoor Radio category. Bill L. Olson and Harold Gunn have been recognized as the longest-running outdoor broadcast team in the country with over 27 years as broadcast partners and hosts of the most honored outdoor radio show in Texas. That streak also continued as TEXAS OUTDOOR NEWS picked up two awards including First Place at the 62nd Annual T.O.W.A. Conference.

The Judge's comments noted how impressed they were with the organization, structure, and flow of the program. Olson said, Harold and I truly have fun doing the show each week for all of these years. It also helps to have great guests and we want to thank each of them for providing their professional insight into various aspects of our outdoor world. The guests on this year's winning shows were Texas Parks & Wildlife's Coastal Fisheries Director Robin Riechers and TPWDs Webless Migratory Gamebird Program Leader (The Dove Guy) Owen Fitzsimmons.
