Established in 2006, Silver Star Leather is proud to celebrate nearly 15 years of serving our local area, which includes LaGrange, Elkhart, St. Joseph, LaPorte, and Noble Counties. Throughout this time, we’ve become the area’s premier leather goods specialist. Our husband-and-wife team and staff of Amish crafters create and repair items such as belts, handbags, key chains, money clips, gun holsters, and gunbelts. We make over 20 different authentic varieties of wallets, with leather materials ranging from old-fashioned cowhide to eel, ostrich, stingray, and even hippo leather.
Our fully solar-powered workshop isn’t just a place to make things – it’s also an educational opportunity. We offer tours up to an hour long, during which we will demonstrate how we prepare and fashion our leather goods. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who’s wanted to see the inside of a leather workshop, ask questions about leatherworking tools, or understand how to make things like belts.
