Welcome To

Edward Jones - Mark Carlile, Financial Advisor

Originally from Phoenix, I moved to Cottonwood in 1999 at the same time I began my career here at Edward Jones. I have fallen in love with the sense of belonging I feel living in a place where you can run into friends, colleagues, and clients at the grocery store or even just driving through town.

Prior to joining Edward Jones, I was a high school English teacher. Although it may seem odd to go from teaching English to advising individuals and families on how to achieve their financial goals, it actually fits perfectly. As a teacher, I needed to make the complex simple to a variety of unique individuals and that is what we do here.

Although some institutions believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to investing, we like to utilize an established process that is tailored for each individual circumstance. I like to use my 26-year-old identical twin daughters as an analogy to explain this idea. Even though they grew up together, are exactly the same age, and have identical genes, they are still unique in their needs from me as a father and in the ways, we interact. If this is true for them, how could one expect that total strangers with completely different backgrounds, experiences, and goals would use the same investment strategy?

In addition to helping clients in our office, I am part of the leadership team for my region here with Edward Jones. Outside of the office, I finance council chair at Immaculate Conception Church and I sit on the school board there as well. I am an avid fly fisherman and I try to incorporate fishing into my love for travel whenever I can. I like to read, hike and enjoy everything our fabulous state has to offer.
