Welcome To

Chappies

Welcome to Chappies in Roxbury! We are the happy and proud owners of a continuing tradition: in 2002 Cassie Grabowski opened Cassies Cafe, offering Good Food and Good Company to the good folks of Roxbury and beyond. Cassie established a much-loved eaterie serving homemade treats for all to enjoy. Previously, and for many years, the building was a popular diner - Budds which shared the space also with a general store.

In 2016, ready for some RandR after a successful and popular run, Cassie sold the property to James Chapman of Rhinecliff Event Catering and the creator of The Rhinecliff, the Hudson Valleys first truly Boutique Riverside Hotel. Eager to establish a location in slowly booming Roxbury, Cassies Cafe was the perfect spot for James to maintain a fine tradition, and establish something new at the same time. James had previously managed, opened restaurants, and trained in London, Barcelona, Athens, Venice, Manila, Mexico City, and New York City.

In 2019, Cassies Cafe finally transformed into Chappies. With eclectic new menus, a new (yet distressed and vintage bar), Chappies is establishing its place as a fine spot to enjoy high quality, no-nonsense, good foods, and good times. We invite you to join us!
