About Angelic Organics Learning Center
Angelic Organics Learning Center builds sustainable local food and farm systems in partnership with rural and urban people and farmers. Our organization is based in Caledonia, Illinois, on over 90 acres of wooded and agricultural land that serves as a living classroom.?
Through immersive hands-on programs, day and overnight summer camps, and farm field trips, visitors become part of the farm and form a deeper understanding of the connections between the rural landscape, healthy food and each other. Diverse farm experiences can be customized to your group’s needs and interests, from elementary school excursions, to university student and continuing education field days.
The Lodge is the perfect space for your private meeting, corporate retreat and other events. Situated on a limestone bluff surrounded by old oaks and overlooking a bend in Kinnikinnick Creek, the well-appointed Lodge features picturesque meeting spaces, a commercial kitchen, indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire pits, bunks to accommodate 30 people, a garden, hiking trails through oak savanna and pastures, and more.
Roots & Wings is our urban, organic Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in Rockford, Illinois. Roots & Wings grows over 1800 lbs of organic produce on a � acre lot within Blackhawk Courts, a Rockford Housing Authority property, and is a successful, socially-oriented urban farm business that increases access to fresh, healthy, affordable food. Roots & Wings partners with local churches and youth outreach organizations to develop and strengthen the connections between Rockford’s urban residents, their local food systems, farms and farmers.
Angelic Organics Learning Center’s Farmer Training program works closely with farmers via our flagship program Stateline Farm Beginnings�, providing in-depth financial, business and marketing education to new and aspiring farmers interested in growing and sustaining their local farm business. We also facilitate and coordinate the Upper Midwest CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) alliance, a farmer-led network of experienced agriculturalists sharing knowledge and resources with one another in support of our local food economy.
